Plenty of summer fun left at Minneapolis parks
 
Summer family fun at Minneapolis parks is still going at full speed with special neighborhood events and festivals in August and September.

Corcoran Park, 3334 20th Ave S – Family Summer Barn Dance, Saturday, Aug. 28, 7-10 p.m. Easy square and contra dances to live music; free instruction provided; light refreshments; free. In partnership with Corcoran Neighborhood Organization/Corcoran GROWS. For more information, call 612-370-4919.

Folwell Park, 1615 Dowling Ave N – Dog Daze, Saturday, Sept. 25, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Bring your dogs for a day of fun and exercise in the park. Entertainment, food, resources, displays; free. For more information, call 612-370-4917 or co-sponsor Folwell Neighborhood Association at 612-521-2100.

Harrison Park, 503 Irving Ave. N – Back-to-School Celebration. Friday, Sept. 3, 5-8 p.m. Cookout and games; free. Co-sponsored by Young Dads. For more information, call 612-370-4951.

Pershing Park, 3523 48th St. W – Fulton Fall Festival, Saturday, Sept. 11, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Entertainment, moon walks, climbing wall, kid’s games and activities, community resource fair, used book sale; fees for food, refreshments and activities. Van Cleve Park, 901 15th Ave. SE – Como Cookout, Sunday, Sept. 19, 2-5 p.m. Food, music, KidsDance, silent auction, tomato tasting, children’s games, door prizes, inflatable jumper, human bingo; community resource fair; meal ticket is provided with registration; free.
